About Dora


Dora’s mission is to help athletes achieve their highest potential by assisting them in developing a positive mindset and to improve the mental aspect of their sport. She wants to help athletes to gain more self knowledge and to teach sport psychology techniques to increase their performance. Dora also wants to assist athletes in applying the mental skills and strategies they use in sports to their lives outside of sport.

Dora completed her MA degree in Sport Psychology at John F. Kennedy University in California. She earned her BA and a second Masters degree in Psychology from Eötvös Loránd University (Budapest, Hungary).

Dora has worked with Division I tennis players and has experience working with young athletes as well. She has led both team and individual mental skill sessions with young tennis players, the Ygnacio Valley High School Softball team, a girls’ youth soccer team, and with high-risk youth populations throughout Northern California.

Dora has a strong background as a table tennis athlete. She is a former European Table Tennis Champion in Cadet, second place in Junior and was on the Hungarian national table tennis team for six years. She is also the six time Hungarian national champion in doubles, singles, and team. She continues to be active in the sport and played at the Table Tennis US Open this past July (2009) where she achieved third place in doubles.

Dora has had significant coaching experience. She has coached table tennis in several clubs in the Bay Area in California (Concord Table Tennis Club, Berkeley Table Tennis Club, Alameda Table Tennis Club and at ICC Table Tennis Club) since 2006.

Dora is provisionally certificated as a Sport Psychology Consultant in the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and she is a member of the British Association of Sport Psychology and Exercise Science.

Besides playing table tennis, Dora enjoys hiking, jogging, playing tennis, climbing and cooking Hungarian and Italian cuisine in her free time.
